On my race car, I change the Stainless braided hoses every 3 years. If I go longer they spring leaks. I only run 2.5 psi for the Weber carbs.

Do you guys think a high quality hose with a PTFE inner would require such frequent replacement? This stuff looks pretty good if you dont want to go hard line: http://www.bmrs.net/progold_main.htm

I feel like the russels crap Im running is a ticking time bomb, Im running 43 psi through it.

Jody- glad to hear luck was on your side- Rich

If I have to use any flex line -- I run the PTFE... It cuts the "stink" from the fumes of the modern gas...

Not sure how the rest of you work with this stuff but here's what I'm doing/using.

It's a bit "harder" to use with the ferrule - you really can't cut it with a cut off wheel - the heat melts the PTFE and then gives you a rough edge. I use a saw blade that goes into a circular saw (and fixture) that has no teeth - it's more like a round razor blade - gives a nice clean edge to not only the SS braid but leaves a perfect edge on the PTFE as well. They also sell a nice little hand tool that places the ferrule on which also helps.

The thing about this hose - you can use it for fuel line - A/C lines - etc...

Charley --

I'll miss you at HAN this year! Not going for the first time in 18 years! Started going there by accident... my grandparents lived in Carson City - during a visit one summer someone mentioned a car show in Reno... and the rest is history.

We've got three truck/trailers headed for Rod Run to Yellowstone on Wednesday - then down to Jackson Hole... after that... the wives take over

Rooms are dirt cheap! I'm paying more for this Friday night than Today through Thursday.
Are you and Jody @ the Atlantis?
