Daren - I'm not sure anyone knows the price of anything anymore... Cars, like houses, peaked a couple years ago and have been falling since then... I'd toss it on eBay with a reserve set to the LEAST you'll sell it for - and see where the biding goes. Post GREAT pictures and tell the story and answer all the questions - and hopefully you'll get TWO people that want the car. If it doesn't make your reserve - but gets 'close', you always have the option to approach the high bidder and see if you can cut a deal. Sorry you're forced to sell what seems to be a very sweet car. Start making plans to build another one... |
Personally, I think the NEW Camaro has hurt the 69 Camaro market. For 40 Grand I can buy a 426 HP 6 speed car... and drive the snot out of it - and it has a warranty. While they're not old skool kool.... they seem to be attracting a LOT of attention wherever they show up. If the dealers weren't such rip-offs - I'd buy one tomorrow.

Does it drive?

What color is the car? Who built the motor? Has the car been dyno'd, if so what is the hp/tq? Can you post some more pics of the interior? Thanks

in this market ?
current market i would estimate 50 k unless you can find someone who absolutly has to have it ... its hard out there.. look at ebay at all the cars with 100 k in them that arent selling for 70 k or less.
i tried to sell my car wich i was offered 48 k for two years ago and it didnt even reach 30 k on on ebay.. car was a total frame off with less then 2500 miles on the 500 horse pump gas 383 dyno proven with all dse suspension and mini tub under it on 18x9 anfd 18x10.5 billet wheels c-5 brakes and dse dash and full restored ineterior plus custom 2500 wat sound system on 18 inch billet wheels. |
I feel your pain. I went through a divorce about 15 years ago. Had 69 RS conv. and spent maybe 40K on that resto and 8 years of sweat labor, parts hunting and saving to finally finish it.
My wife at the time was after a slice of the car so I told her the Engine siezed up and it would cost a fortune to repair. She never mentioned it again. There's no doubt you have a tidy sum inveted. Problem is 2 fold. 1) It's set up for Pro Touring and that drastictly reduces your customer base. A 100% stock restored 396 Pace Car would have trouble pulling down 80K. 2) As previously mentioned, the market just isn't there for your car at that price level. Mid 50's to low 60's would be my guess. It's almost impossible to recoup what you have invested. A 69 ZL1 is probably the ony exception to the rule. Sell it cheap to a trusted friend until this all blows over and get it back. Good Luck and I hope it works out the way you want it to. |
New price $70,000. I need to sell this.

Give Bob Fatore (fa tor ee) a call at Muscle Cars Northwest - Renton, WA 425-228-1600 Use my name as an intro - see if he's interested. Yeah he's a dealer - but he knows a nice car when he sees one. Yours qualifies. If not him - Call Mark Young - The Chev Connection - Portland, Oregon 503-257-9050 He too knows a nice car when he sees it. I don't know that either of them would be interested - but they deal in this quality of car... So worth a call. IMHO Best, Greg Weld |
That is not your average EBAY $45K CAR. Problem is you need to take some time and get real photos and put a killer ad on EBAY. Cars still sell in the range you are asking. People always look more at cars with good clear pics. You can have a $500k car and if pics look bad nobody will give it a second look. 2nd you probably are into that thing for more like $100k with orig car, labor and parts. Would you buy a car listed as $80k invested for $85k Guys always think they can build for less.
Great looking car from pics and if quality and details are there you should get close to your number on EBAY. |
