I called DSE this morning as we are dealers for them; no pricing at this time. I'm hoping that the DSE arrangement will allow these to be out soon.

I think that if they got down in the $350 a pair range that they would sell like hotcakes.. |

An efficient mill that can turn out 10 times the product in a given span should drop the price quite a bit. They sure are nice.. |
$1000.00 That Price is ridicules, I see no more than 1.5 hours at the absolute maximum in machine time per hinge assembly that’s on a CNC machine not whittleing them out by hand on a Bridgeport These guys need to step out of the stone age and get some computer controlled equipment.

Mike Ring made them on a CNC. I spoke to him about my Son bidding on them. He has a much more efficient machine and thinks he can improve it. I have Mikes card on my desk and just need to call and push him.

Those are trick.
Jody, I distinctly remember a conversation in your garage well over a year ago when we were both looking at your in-progress car and I mentioned "you know what, billet hood hinges would be really cool." Looks like I'm beat to the market yet again. :P Those would definately sell like hotcakes, but only if the price is right. Are the gas-charged assist cylinders capable of holding up a steel hood? Also, if it was me, I'd press in needle bearings at the non-spherical jointed pivot points or at least some sort of sleeve bearing (they may have already done that, can't tell in the pics.) A composite sleeve bearing would probably be the best option as they would be corrosion resistant. It would suck to have the needle bearings on your hood hinges rust up on you. Troy |
