Take some time to look through this link. >Here It lists the variations in the 5.3 and 6.0 series. It tells if they have iron or aluminum heads, what vehicles they came in and also notes the higher compression LQ9 that's a little more desirable by some.

Hmmmm. Sounds like an inexpensive intermediate set up.
