just wanted to throw out a little update.
both night's lodging details are finally up on the Rod Run's website/forum. At this time, we were only able to get a limited number of discounted rooms at both places, and only for a limited time. Not saying that we can't get more if needed, but also not saying that we can get them either, so if you plan on going and want to stay with the group, it's best to book now. the website also has been updated a little this week so it looks a little more "professional":willy: still working on more updates to the site, but when you don't know anything about websites, it takes extra long to get things done. |
I was just looking at the Power Tour picture thread and it made me think of this trip, so I figured I'd bring the thread back up to the top. I guess I should go onto the Rod Run's website and forum and put some updates in there also
Again, this is nothing big. It's just about a bunch of guys getting together for a 3 day weekend of some nice cruising around together, on some cool roads throughout the northeast. I think right now we are around 20 hotel rooms booked at each night's stop |
Just a quick update.
Within the next week or so, everyone that is going will be getting the final route and directions emailed to them. I am also trying to work out discount tickets for the museum on Sunday. See eveyone in about 6 weeks!!!! |
Well, with only about a week and a half to go before we kickoff, it looks like we should have over 30 cars this year. :woot:
A few people still don't have their cars ready yet (myself included), but everyone is confident that they will be all set come that Saturday. Now all that is left, is to hope for good weather and for everyone's cars to run well |
Well, we got back on Monday the 4th and for the third year in a row, the trip went great.
People started arriving at Comp Specialties on Saturday morning at around 9AM and Pete Newell was there to greet everyone with coffee and donuts. After people got to check out his latest projects we hit the road. The trip was around eight to nine hundred miles round trip. There were a few breakdowns, but nothing that had anyone going on a trailer. The only real bump in the road was at the hotel on Sunday morning. We were trying to get a shot of all the cars, but before we could totally set-up the hotel manager got pissed:willy: from all the burnouts so he called the cops. We took off before they got there :_paranoid but I guess a local and two staties showed up The midday stop, on Sunday, at the Northeast Classic Car Museum was pretty cool. The Adirondacks were starting to show some great color and we couldn't have asked for better roads to cruise along (a good amount of twisties). All said and done, it was some great cruising, great weather, great sites, with great people for the entire weekend. There are plenty of pics on the Rod Run's Facebook page, with many more to come and I still have to update the website. If I get some time soon, I'll try to post up some pics on here. Next year..... cruising through New England and Bar Harbor, ME will be one of the highlights. Maybe next year we'll have a few more local people from Lateral-G. |
