If you remember - this car could NOT be sold in Nevada (the Vegas auction) because it couldn't clear Nevada SMOG... so the buyer couldn't take the car - and BJ worked a deal with Frank and everybody went away happy.

1239 is a good Saturday number - my old Vette is 1351 so running a bit later...

Here's my thoughts on this auction -- while the economy has improved - there seems to be a greater number of even better cars available.. Some real serious cars are going begging on the market. My old Vette is a "normal car" - that should ordinarily sell without a hitch for good money. But it's also going against about 6 other 67 red Vettes -- so the competition is kinda like houses right now - theres LOTS of them so buyers can be choosey.

Just look at how many nice cars have been offered for sale right here in the last month!

Yeah, not funny at all. Very predictable actually.

Actually that really shows how things must work. Probably not that funny considering how many people have lost a fortune under there structure. If emptynest was not worth a saturday spot before at vegas. Seems funny that it is worth a saturday spot at scottsdale.

It's not really funny, but it's no surprise to anyone that knows how things work there. It's nepotism at its very core.

When you're the boss or own the company, you call the shots and move things around in your favor. Pretty simple really.

I am not defending BJ - far from it - but "lost a fortune under their structure"? No one is forced to put their car in a no-reserve auction. I don't have any sympathy for anyone who "loses money" there. It's gambling plain and simple.

I agree.

Also;

If the Nevada smog thing is the reason it didn't sell the first time. So out of the thousands of cars BJ have sold, they never sold an old car to a person living in Nevada before? :question:

What's so different with Nevada Smog? We have at least a few heavily built pro touring cars on here that are in Nevada.

Actualy , you guys are wrong, They DID NOT give it a better time slot which stunned me. My friend has a few prime time cars and EmptyNest is a few hours before Prime Time. I am guessing 2 to 4 PM pacific time. I would have thought this thing would get THE number since it is their money.

At Vegas it ran PRIME TIME, best slot it could have gotten.

Barrett Jackson has been comendable through the entire process including paying me for the car when they made a mistake about Nevada emissions and NOT burning a kiiller number on themselves to run it this weekend.

I am very impressed they bought it, did not take THE Prime Time number, and gave those numbers to oters.

I truely hope they hit a home run on it. They never responded to my offer to promote the car, so I will be watching from the cheap seats at home

Long story short it had to have a original for that year motor complete with smog system for that year. Some of that was missing, LOL!
