GOOD JOB! |
Here is one in the paint booth (garage)
http://i886.photobucket.com/albums/a...o/PICT1608.jpg After assembly http://i886.photobucket.com/albums/a...o/PICT2163.jpg Here is the Second Skin Firewall I put on the bottom, tried spraying it but brushin it on worked better for me http://i886.photobucket.com/albums/a...o/PICT2235.jpg |
Finally got my wheels on, Rushforth Super Spoke smoked titanium with brushed outers from Frank at Prodigy. The stance obviously needs some attention.
Would like comments on how the red calipers look with the rest. Personally I was unsure before I put it together but I think I like it. http://i886.photobucket.com/albums/a...o/PICT2247.jpg http://i886.photobucket.com/albums/a...o/PICT2261.jpg |
im also unsure of the calipers.... They look great, but also alittle "ricer" perhaps its just that the only two things on that pic is alot of blis (on a great looking car btw) and the red calipers...
get the stance right and finish the car before casting final judgement.. |
I think it looks ok the way it is. It definitely stands out though, and you need to decide if that's what you like. I will warn you, having them powdercoated will get pricey since you have to pull the calipers completely apart and will likely need a rebuild kit since it's impossible to pull them cleanly without damaging the seals or pistons.

I just read the title of the tread, then I remembered a Bob Dylan Lyric and googled it:
... see the rich man without any name. Jokerman dance to the nightingale tune... Your car should be named Jokerman. |
This is over on the A/C forum too but here's my latest project.
I wasn't to impressed with the brackets that came with my Vintage Air kit. I couldn't use it anyway seeing as how my firewall is already painted plus I didn't want any hardware showing on the firewall side. Made this out of 1/2" tubing. I bolt in the upper bracket first, then attached the bottom half of the bracket to the evaporator case and install them assembled. I used Nutserts in the sheet metal of the car. The bottom of the bracket attaches to the little shelf there at the top of the toe board. You can see the Nutserts from the engine compartment but it's much better than right through the firewall. The little brace I made for the center dash support really firmed things up too It is very sturdy and I probably could have done without that triangulated piece on the upper bracket but it really made the mounting much firmer and it gives me something to attach wiring harnesses and other stuff to later on. http://i886.photobucket.com/albums/a...o/PICT2274.jpg http://i886.photobucket.com/albums/a...o/PICT2275.jpg http://i886.photobucket.com/albums/a...o/PICT2276.jpg http://i886.photobucket.com/albums/a...o/PICT2278.jpg http://i886.photobucket.com/albums/a...o/PICT2277.jpg |
The car looks great, I like the color. Nice work on the bracket.
