That should end up being a very cool truck. But it got me thinking and I was wondering does anybody have any idea how much it would cost to buy a Corvette Transaxle?

My 57 truck
Thanks for the kind words on my truck. I had a chassis before that had all C4 suspension and I decided that it would be fun to build a new chassis with C6 stuff. The front suspension is brand new C6 from the chevrolet and the rear is used C5. I have a pretty good deal goin on assemblies they sell for 3500 to 4000 complete from bellhousing to rear axle and out to the brakes. That is with a 6 speed.
We are maybe going to put this same assembly in a 39 chevy coupe, in a 67 camaro, a 66 mustang, and a 66 nova. We have been able to narrow the track width to 60 inches, so it should fit alot of applications. Changing the Length of the torque tube is pretty easy. If you guys have anymore questions let me know. Can I get some wheel ideas
I have been trying to decide between couple different wheels. The truck is gonna roll on 20's and 22's. I really like the Budnik Muroc II and the Muruoc III are cool also. I also like the 5 spoke design of the Billet Specialties Fuelie.
The Muroc's work more of the trad. look inmy opinion. The truck height of the truck has the rear hubs equal to the fender lip. It is dumped with full suspension travel and no bags, it has room for Chris Alston varishocks shockwaves but we are going to run coilover for now. Tell me what you think, I need some ideas. http://www.budnikwheels.com/roadwhee...3&pid=746&pg=4 http://www.billetspecialties.com/ite...id=121&pid=699 Rodger |
the billet specialties profile series might be the best quality wheel out there right now and I dig the fuelie....but the murocs are very cool too. Can't go wrong with either one but........
I will vote for the murocs, different and stylish  |

The Truck is called EL Yunque
The truck is a chopped 50 chevy on a full custom chassis. I don't have a pics because it is torn down to powder coat and paint. There are a few early build up pics on the hamb. We should have it back in one oile by march. It is chopped 8 inches and has wide whites and a crazy small block. I will look for pics. Here are some links. I will try for more.

That truck is going to be bad to the bone love the shot killer! :hail:

I think the Fuelie would tie the "High Tech" chassis and suspension combo together nicely.
