I saw this car last Sunday . Good bodywork . Had some calipers ( pre production) that I really liked .
Color is unique Leagal to call it a Rossi ..? Valentino know about this ? |
Like a train wreck -- I had to go back and take a second look. Funny - because this time around... I couldn't help think that the designers at GM have done a pretty good job bringing the Corvette along... Where as the Rossi - (to me) looks like what it is... somebody trying desperately to capture every OLD styling cue while "modernizing" it at the same time.
We hang out at the XXX (Rootbeer not porn) - on Saturday afternoons... and a guy pulled in with the '62' version of the C5... and as a group (8 or 9 of us) all said the same thing. If you like a '62 vette - then just buy one. If you want modern driving then just buy a new Vette... 'cause this guy spent $150 grand for a car that has ZERO resale value... and he could have had a real '62 and a new Vette for the same money! True! $100K will get you a decently restored '62 and a new Vette is close to $50K (okay maybe more like 60)... |
Hybrid
There were 2-3 of the C5/6 hybrid cars at a local car show last weekend. My wife looked at one and asked "why"? A buddy saw one and thought it was great. Is there really a market for these things? As Greg says why buy a new C6 and spend another 100K to bastardize it? I guess there is a safety upgrade over modifying an old Corvette with a modern chassis and drivetrain. The cost is the same, resale on the old one has to be alot higher though.

If that's the case -- then "he's" not going to buy ANY of this stuff....  :woot: |
I like it, but I still think the C3R was the best "retro" design idea.
