time for some mud..... lots of it.
http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...even/016-6.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...ven/010-13.jpg found some roof issues after taking it to bare metal... http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...even/021-8.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...even/024-4.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...even/025-4.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...even/027-5.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...xseven/034.jpg dont have a picture of the repair, but thats what it started as... http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...ven/011-15.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...even/035-1.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...even/045-1.jpg if you notice i work body line to body line on the car, before i hit it with any mud the car gets blocked down real hard with 40grit then the hammering and a skim to finish it. theres really no hacked repairs found yet except for the cave and pave on the roof that was recovered in vinyl, but thats all sorted out now. also tubbed the rear wheel wells, where the the outer part of the wheel wells were rubbing my tires ever so slightly when i rolled low, so they were cut out to the seam where the inner meets the outer, and the tubs were butted to the quarter and seam sealed to the quarter panel. loads of clearance now. also used some 1/4" roundbar to clean up the wheelwell lip. http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...xseven/038.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...even/041-2.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...even/044-1.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...even/043-1.jpg the aftermath. its not an awfully interesting update, but thats all i can offer for now. |
nice car , Mom and Dad had one just like that 67 ss with 427 in it same color with out the black roof

http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...ven/001-35.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...ven/002-29.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...ven/008-25.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...ven/010-15.jpg http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c2...ven/011-16.jpg well, got most of the bodywork done and threw some feather fill on it. decided to take a break from bondo dust while im fighting a cold and work on mocking up the engine and clutch. ordered the parts for the clutch from hubbards so i should be able to finish that up this weekend. headers fit good except for the flanges hitting the head bolts, which is kinda mind boggling to me. but what can you do. everything clears so far, i havent had to break out the bfh yet. also got the air intake all done except for welding the stainless tubing up, which will get polished. also if you notice the smashed stool in the first picture, well its about 15 years old of rotten out wood that was in our yard forever. i was using it to prime the roof and wham, it finally gave up on me. time for a diet. :poop: |
nice! how are you going to detach the air cleaner? i see welds but no detachment points. very nice job!!!

Nice progress.

if you look where there is two inch masking tape where the air intake meets the inner fender, thats where my joint will be. tried to keep it as clean as possible with less pieces. thank you all for the compliments. |
