If you ask me it's all math. You stated the lack of funds is keeping you from doing anything on the cars. I would simply go with which ever one needs the least amount of work. All the cars have plenty of options for go fast parts. So that's not a worry. Which one will get you on the road, having fun for the least amount of $$?

Regardless of what you keep. I'd say you're setup to have a good time.

Sounds like you have a lot of parts for both the Camaro and the Firebird, but few parts for the Fastback. Why not sell the fastback, for cash and use that to fund the restoration of either the Camaro or Firebird?

Seems like a waste to have bought a bunch of parts for a car and then turn around and sell the car and the parts at a loss.

keep the fastback. i have a 69 camaro and love it. i have had 3 67 fastbacks. its hard to beat a properly done fastback, they aren't everywhere like camaros are. just the way they sit and the way you sit in them just feels cooler.

I have a Camaro, a Firebird, and a Mustang so I'm not really brand or model biased. I'd sell the bird and Camaro and build a Shelby clone G-machine with a nasty cammer out of the Mustang. Here's why

1. No matter what you do to the bird it will have the worst return on investment of the 3 if you ever sell. So for every dollar you put in you might as well throw 2 out the window. I like the 1st gen birds but I'm a realist.

2. The RS SS Status of the Camaro makes it "special" and more desireable to purists looking to do a high end restoration/stock rebuild which gives you an advantage in this down markettrying to sell. It's also the most desireable (easiest to sell quickly) model in their current states IMO.

3. A Shelby clone 67 G-machine would be bad ass and get a lot of attention. You have to have an absolutely incredible 69 Camaro get anyone to even take a second look at it because there's just so many big budget ones that have been done already. You could spend half the money you would on a Camaro and get twice the recognition. Aftermarket support is excellent and reproduction cloning parts are available. Plenty of suspension and brake upgrades available. While return on investment might not be quite as high as the Camaro if you sold IMO it'd probably be close so I'd be willing to give up a little return to have something a little different.

Economically I agree that the mustang is prolly the best choice but is it about money in the long run? He won't have any problem selling any of them right now and no matter what he builds he'll lose money on it if he sells it. So why not built the one that is closest to being on the road or the one that gets his blood pumping the most?

I'm a Chevy guy but I have always had a soft spot for Fastbacks. So if it were me I would sell the Bird first and try to hold onto the others. The first one I would restore would be the Mustang. Like it was previous stated to be different in the sea of Camaros can be pretty expensive but still cool to have. Good luck to you. :thumbsup:

Thanks guys for all the helpful insight, looks like I have some internal searching to do. From what I have gathered in comparison Ford parts are generally more expensive but something about the stance and that beefy rear end gets me going. On the other hand the reason 69 camaro's are so popular is because its just one of the best all time looking cars. The bird is different seldom done ahhhh man this is driving insane. Besides ebay and craigslist what are good sites like this one where I could post those cars for sell?

The Camaro looks the cleanest in the places you want it to, it would be a lot less work,time and money to do the 69 from what the pics tell me.

The 67 Fastback is really ruff and looks to be a lot worse once you go further.

The Firebird is a bit ruff too in places that are harder to fix than the 69.

It comes down to what you want in the end. I could give reasons to keep or sell all three. Do you want a g machine type of build or resto-mod type or street machine? I would sell the bird first then take that money for the other two. Just remember that Ford and Mopar parts cost more and can be harder to find than Chevy parts. The Camaro does have more desirable options than the other two also. I would love to have any of the three. They are nice starts to a build.
