BTW, what is the weight of Street Fighter ?

Weight is 3150. That's with a steel hood and iron heads/block.

Do you have any weight saving tricks ?
Especially front end weight.
(Excluding aluminum block)

FRONT END:
-tubular clip
-rack & pinion steering
-aluminum radiator
-trimmed inner wheelhouses
-No AC
-No heat
OTHER:
-Minimal sound deadening
-Trunk Mount Battery
-Hollow doors (no side windows)
-Lexan rear quarter windows
-Aluminum one piece driver's seat
-Realistic wheel and tire sizes (285 tire on a 10" wheel)
WEIGHT ADDED BACK IN:
-Roll cage
-Firebottle
-Stainless Steel Fuel Cell by II Much Fabrication
-Minimal stereo

There is a real push these days towards "bigger is better" thinking. Turbos, blowers, extra wide tires, increased wheel diameter--even big ass brakes. While weighing out the potential benefits of these components, more attention should be paid to their weight penalty as well. The Lotus Elise and Exige are good examples of less being more.

Yup. Next winter. I have a lot of ideas rattling around in my head. I want to put them to good use. I'll build on the car's existing strengths. So the revised C4 clip will stay, while changes will be made to the rear suspension. You know how it is: Every time I rebuild that car, I learn new things and make mistakes. I know the car can be way better than it is now.

So I'll drive it into the ground this summer and then--before the steam and smoke dissipates--I'll pull it apart. McBride and I have been working together on the makeover.

Cool car Steve. Sorry I missed ya in Havasu last time, kinda spaced it and had the kid thing going down. Next time for sure. Keep us posted on the teardown details. Looks like a fun car.

Steve,
I have always liked the look/concept of your car..
Great story as well.
No one can accuse you of being a Poseur!
