Does your customer want 700 to the wheels or flywheel? Is your customer accustom to high HP cars? I'm willing to bet that a LS2 or LS3 with a maggie or whipple would be more than enough for your customer.

Do you spend much time on LS1tech? If not, you should start!

You know for a 12 month warranty a GM performance LSx blocked motor is a pretty damn good deal... Have a few customers with supercharged motors like this. A 376 lsx made for boost can easily make the power you want and not brake the bank.

ls9 power, warranty, driveability, will make more of a visual statement also when you pop the hood. the only downside to a ls9 is the cost.

Chris,

No doubt boost will get you there, but how about a 460-500 inch N/A LS, block prepped by RHS or RED. Callies/Weisco internals, Big LS7 black label heads or WCCH. FAST intake/102mm throttlebody. Cammed approprietly should do 650 rear wheel no problem and drive nice.

Look at Rupp's build, he drives his with out issues, dont know if he ever changed his throttlebody but it should be in the 650+ range.

To the OP.....I preferred the cube route I went this direction, RHS, 460, bigger heads :unibrow: and an intake that didnt choke off all those cubes as the FAST would. Internal goodies include Lunati crank, Callies rods, JE pistons.... Cam shaft is TBD as we are still in the dyno phase and have a few to choose from. Final power numbers will be somewhere in the mid 800s and all under 7k in a M6 4th gen. (Its pretty too! ;) )

Boost is a nice option as well. Nice forged/sleeved LS2 with a TVS2300 or Kennebell power is there all day long.

Going back to N/A for a minute, my builder (Virginia Speed), recently put together a "conservative" LS2 440 that made just over 700fwhp topped with a FAST and multiple 427ci easily making 650ish without any effort. Add a Marcella on any of those combos and :hail:

made a decision

Thanks everyone...when you are spending that kind of money, I want to make sure we are making a good educated choice, and that's what this community is all about.

We ended up with a Wegner Motorsports 416 with a Magnuson supercharger:unibrow: looks like 850+ HP! and lots of street manners. Carl Wegner is a great guy and knows a few things about LS engines. This is going to be a fun project.

Thanks again- Chris

No kidding... makes me wonder what it will be like in another 10+ yrs. :unibrow:
