I'm really surpriced that no one has done the AWD conversion before, there are tons of donor cars awailable for this conversion. I've been toying with the idea of AWD Corvette for ages now, if I can score a decent Typhoon or Syclone for my parts car then maybe... :unibrow:

I thought that somebody said something about an all wheel drive first gen firebird at the PT dinner. I can't rmember who said it but I seem to recall that it was one of the manufacture/sponsors of the dinner.

I know I am pretty Naive about this all, and I know this has been rumored for a long time. But what about the logistics of it. Is it possible to fit an AWD system under a Camaro? What type of modification would it take? Has anyone looked into that?

Just Curious

I have heard that Bravadas, Jimmy's, S10's, Safari's, Astro's, Blazers all share the same AWD components as the Typhoon and Syclone... I am sure there is a plethora of wrecked AWD vehicles that are awaiting to be transplanted into a 1st Gen! :unibrow:

I know that Neil Lea from Rods & Restos was building one. Last time I talked to him he sold the project. Not sure if he is still building it for the buyer as a customer or not. It was going to be wicked though from what he told me. At the time he told me he was going with a big inch all aluminum big block with a big single turbo and a 6 speed. I'll see about getting some info on it..If he'll tell me that is!!

I have heard the same as well. I am sure someone knows who's building it here or at PT.com but sworn to secrecy in fear of death.
