I do want to mention again that the dogs will be moving to foster homes all across the country. There just aren't enough fosters in the SW for all of them. As mentioned on the blog, there are already quite a few that have been moved to the PNW. Next week a few will be headed to the Gulf States area, and as I recall there is another group that will be headed to the Mid-Atlantic/Virgina area.

If you've any inkling toward adoption, don't let the fact that the dogs are in Phoenix keep you from looking into it. Dawn is totally open to change the plan for which dogs go where so that one you might be interested in can be fostered near you.

Again, the transport costs and continuing medical treatments are substantial. Thanks a ton to those who have donated, and if anyone else can help, there's a wrinkle faced pooch that'll really appreciate it.

UPDATE: Homecoming Days for Teala & Crystal

Damn True 07-26-2013 02:06 PM

In December of 2011 I made a public plea for assistance in the rescue effort of 27 Bullmastiffs that were in a horrible situation in Las Vegas, NV. I know a few of you made donations to the effort. For that, you have my most sincere gratitude. I wanted to share with you the blog post linked below with an announcement and update on the dogs YOU helped save.

Thank you.

 :hail:

I salute you Sir from the bottom of my dog loving heart.

I've never met a bad dog only ones that have been screwed up by humans.

A very daunting task you undertook and with dogs of that stature there are serious risks. We recently rescued/adopted a Great Dane and compared to the challenges you've faced it's been very easy and over the top in emotional rewards. Every day with our Dane just keeps getting better.

Kind words and I appreciate them but I don't want credit that isn't due. I just created the blog, promoted the fundraising effort, donated a bunch of cash ( matched in full by my wife's employer ) and adopted Guinness ( formerly Snort ). A few hours of writing and some easily replaceable money. The real hero's in this were Dawn, Jewlz and the legion of unnamed volunteers who gave astronomical amounts of time and effort to caring for the dogs and transporting them (usually at their own expense) these dogs all over the western US.

If that strikes a chord with any of you the best way to honor that sacrifice is to adopt a rescue pet and give it a forever home.

The last several animals we've taken in were rescues. Well worth the effort.
