Goodguys is 180 FYI, in case that matters to the OP.

Thanks bud, does that mean I need another set of wheels with 180 treadware? I was already thinking about running some race weight wheels and some DOT r-compound tires.

My last set of r888's lasted about 3k. Front would've made it another 1500. Drove them in the rain once. Didn't have any issues. You can run exhibition in most events unless you want to go for optima.

Or unless you want to win some contingency $$ :unibrow:

If that gives you enough reason to have a dedicated set of tires for GG, then sure. :D

So now i'm leaning towards the falken 615s, any one use these? They seem to be a bit more streetable and a higher treadwear so they should last me a little longer. Only downside is they are more expensive.

I'd rather have traction. I used the contingency money on my r888's. Haha

Yep, it just doesn't make sense for me to spend 2k on street tires. I run one pro touring event per year and I ran 7 or 8 other non last year. We'll just have to settle the score in Buttonwillow. :unibrow:

last year at Buttonwillow was a good time but I think this year is going to be even funner. Now that I have faces to names the rivalry will be alot funner.

I expected Newman to throw down some good track times but was more impressed with Carl's and especially Todd's times only because he was throwing around alot more weight.

Last year was a little more about being social for me but this year I'll be throwing alot more attention to what I'm doing on the road course. A few less late night brews and alot more sleep.

Car should be 99% sorted this time around and I'll be sure to have an air pressure gauge that actually works this time. :unibrow:

And I hear ya, and I am tempted too, but I still have NT05s with plenty of meat left and my sets only run 750ish. That's the benies of runnin 17s. :unibrow:

No excuses here, just facts. Throwing that new motor in my truck is going to limit some wheel time this season and everybody knows I was in transition last September between all the new changes made to the car. I'm making it a point to get some extra tune time this season even if it means using a local parking lot. No messin' around next September, I'm comin' out to spank some ass. :unibrow:
