I take it this is not that great of a buy ,,,without the Vin

Im confused. So say someone stole a car and removed the vin. Since you don't have the full vin only the partial vin what would keep thieves from doing this to classic cars? Its not that easy to just walk into the DMV and have a car with no vin or title and have them give you a title and vin.

If its that easy then Id suggest get a new vin and title THEN sell your car. Otherwise Id say moderator LOCK this thread before a fellow member gets stuck in this guys mess. Sounds to me like you are NOT able to register it that is why you are selling it. The "paint isn't good enough" is sort of lame excuse especially when it will be WAY cheaper to repaint a car then to start all over on a new body.

You are wrong in your assumptions of me and why I am selling the car.

I will admit that in some states the process to be assigned a new VIN is very difficult and in others not very difficult at all. We have restoration shop in Washington state and I know we do not have much difficulty being assigned new vins in that state.

As for why I am selling it - possibly you are not aware of the downfalls of having OCD. Unfortunately although it can be a good thing at times, at other times it can cause great difficulties. For me, when building these cars the slightest imperfections weigh very heavily on me and when something is far from perfect for me it is easy to just start all over. I have long ago purchased another shell and am very far along in building it for my twin turbo car so this car is no longer needed.

I have never attempted to register the car and I dont appreciate your suggestion that this thread get locked based on what is your opinions only. I have been very honest about the car and I have even suggested that one of the good routes to take would be to use the car as an offroad race car. Please dont make incorrect assumptions and make people think that I have not been honest in my asertions. I am an honest person and have no intention to try to be any less just to sell a car that has not gone the way I wanted it to.

If anyone has any questions please PM me - do not take what others that are misinformed have to say as being truthful.

title

If the car was registered in your name you should apply for a lost title? This would clear up any issues and you will be able to sell with no questions asked
