Great info Bret and I would say it is spot on. I am running your spindles with z28 arms now till I have the budget for the rest of the true turn system. I have a 17x8 up front with 4.5" of backspacing and I wouldnt push it past that with the stock steering arm. The spindles are a very nice piece and I look forward to getting the rest of the system on the car. I am running GW upper and lower arms with zero BJ bind. I was also able to get 6 degrees of caster with no issues.

Having said all that I am quite sure that someone somewhere makes a 17" billet wheel that will not fit, and a 17" cast wheel that will :)

If you are going to use another brand of control arm, or an oem control arm, just be sure the run the suspension through its travel to check for ball joint bind and any other clearance issues.

The RideTech spindle does NOT move the wheel mount hub out any, BUT some brake kits do that. Ask your brake manufacturer. From experience I know the Baer systems duplicate the mount position of the factory DISC brake system, but be aware that the oem disc brake hub [and the Baer hub] is about 1" wider than the oem drum system. [That little tidbit cost me a set of billet wheels]

I just bought your spindles and haven't put them on yet. Are you saying that there is a loss in backspace running your spindle without the the rest of Tru turn system or is it a wash between spindles and stock steering arms? I was expecting to be able to run 5" backspace.

The key player for backspace clearance is the Tru Turn steering arm. Without it, 4.5" is about the max backspace. WITH the rest of the Tru Turn system...up to 5.75 on a 18x10" wheel.

Just to reiterate what Bret has stated. Here are the ridetech spindles with stock z28 short arms and a 17x8 with 4.5" of backspacing.
