While researching the suspension found on the GTO I came across this (I apologize for the size, it's about all one can find on this deal):

The GTO is based off the Holden Monaro, which utilizes GM's Omega B chassis:

Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) built a 427 version around 2002 that changed the front suspension from strut to double a-arms. Only two were built. . .one has sold a couple of times for stupid money, while the other is held by Holden.

Though it would be rather expensive to replicate it is interesting to see the a-arm and "standard" coil over design.

That 427 looks really nice..
I'll keep digging for more info on the HSV suspension..

As far as forums go check out ls1.com.au & justcommodores.com.au

Google.com.au "commodore coil overs" etc etc... that'll keep you busy for a while :D

Pedders has a presence over there too..good catalogue here http://www.pedders.com.au/products/5...FVGZpAodDA0AxA

Other Commodore stuff worth doing some research on (depending on budget) are Nolathane & Super Pro for bushes, Whiteline, Monroe, BC, D2, XYZ, K Sport, or Tein if you want to go spendy...

I think I tried the justcommodores, they insist you have a paid email address to join. I'm not paying for an email account..

I ran across some AU guys called McDonald Bros. Racing and they look to have done some mods to the older Monaros. I shot them an email to see if they can point me in the right direction.

I'll keep looking across the pond for more info. I know the AU V8 Supercars have to use a ford falcon double a-arm from suspension on their cars.

Well I finely found the direction I want to go in. This shop does alot of custom frames for for older corvettes and they can build them with or without the trans axle/torque tube configuration. http://www.streetshopinc.com/c5andc6for53-82.html

The most appealing part to the whole thing is I have all the C5 suspension parts sitting on a 02 corvette I was piecing back together (any one need some corvette body parts? LOL).
I actually had a 06 Viper diff I was going to use in a cobra IRS then put that into the GTO. But that wasn't feeling right for some reason.

The kicker is that the shop isn't interested in selling me the front and rear clips. I laid out some of my plans for the car and they wanted to build me a whole frame less the suspension parts for around 7K. So I mulled that over for a few and then started asking the shop some questions and the guy just seemed pissed (for lack of a better word) that I was asking questions. He threw some track width measurements at me and when I asked how he came to those suggestions he said. I've done a few other uni-body cars in the past. Communication from that point was really lacking. Why are some shops like that?

Anyone know of any major differences between the C5 and C6 suspension setups?

Have you considered the 9" Ford IRS conversions out there for the new era GTO?

All GForce1320 Drivetrain, coil overs, Driveshaft, and Ford 9"

Also, my suspension is completely done with Lovell's components.

I hadn't seen it done in the 9" anywhere when I was looking for info.

Not to mention I have all the C5 components and the Viper HD diff
