I think the guy in the mustang was running a peg leg rear end. Did you see how bad the body twisted to the right?- popped open his trunk and then lost the sunroof. It's a good thing he didn't run anymore - no telling what else would have come loose.

I have actually talked to Rich (the producer/ creator) a few times about getting on the show, we were actuall schedualled to go to FLA for the second season shoot. but it ended up it would have cost us WAY too much to even get there ( Vancouver BC to FLA is about 4000 Miles and 6 days driving) Ths show sounded pretty real to me. i was told we would need to sign over the car prior to the race and if we lost ...we lost!!! if we won and couldn't transport the winning car home then the show would arrange and pay for the transport.
As for the cars breaking down.......... i doubt most of the cars are top quality as who in their right mind would risk a 30k up car ????? the car we were going to use was my old SST mustang that has been in the corner of the shop for the past 5 years.........we figured it would be good advertising for the shop and also a whole lot of FUN. we were ready to come home empty handed and costs the would be applied to the Marketing budget.
i think the show is not bad alot better than the first couple episodes. i think they could do a better job of keeping control of the MASS of people at the start line tho. and possibly give the guys a little more time to deal with issues that do come up

Just my .02 worth

i watched it today for the first time, a firebird giving up 20 lengths to a honda civic and it was way to much soap-opera drama for me and besides they have some half naked dude waving his arms in the air like a girl, i'm sorry but i am not into watching half naked men waiving their arms around like a girl on the tv unless my wife makes me watch it.

We also talked to Rich. We were ready, but could not go to Phoenix, and they were not coming back to Orlando. At SEMA, they were in the parking lot selling the show as a 30 minute commercial, and asking for a $5000 car, selling it as 30 minutes for $5k. We looked at it and see it as a good deal. It is for real, for the most part this year as even if there is a side deal to buy one another's car back, the car does indeed go. The Orlando races last year, total BS! No one lost anything. if they come to the southeast, were in, and would do it for real, I am confident with our abilities, and like the gamble.

A couple of locals actually went to AZ early this year. A white 71(?) Camaro that beat a orange nova. The black Nova with the realistic flames that Lost to a guy in Vegas, not sure what the other guy was racing. A friend of mine built the black nova and sold the roller to the guy that lost it. He didn't even own it for 4 months. Then there was an Astro van that beat a porsche when the porsche broke, but I don't think that episode is going to air.

From what I was told the show is real, you have to bring your own cars, and pay for your own trip. and you don't get paid anything for doing the show.. sounds like a big waste just to get on TV.

I actullay like the show. I think the racers should get more time in between runs like 30min just to fine tune things and let things cool down.

They must give those guys some kind of appearance money. If they dont then those guys are stupid for making fools of themselves for nothing.

As far as this past episode goes. I think the win should have gone to the camaro and the guy in the mustang complained to much that the other guys car might of been fast but why his mustang was faster and left the line harder.

Better check your scorecard again,Top Fuelers currently make around 8-9,000HP  ...at this point it's anyone's guess beyond that since there is no dyno in the world that can handle that kind of HP.

Ah you are correct. but some how they are able to measure that the 3 engines that they use on the space shuttle can deliver up to 12mil lbs of torque each.
