Arlington is a busy suburb . Had a bad accident there myself . 20 year old girl put me in the hospital for a week .
Hope it was insured .

Wow is that unfortunate. It would be interesting to find out what happened. I know my TA sits with the battery disconnected at all times.

Guys, Scott isn't talking bad about first responders. Unless you happen to be right there, nothing you could have done would have saved that car. His comment was correct. The point was you have to take the precautions yourself because it does take responders time to respond.

That was painful.

It's just a car. Sh!t happens. That's what insurance is for.

August 7th I came so close to experiencing their helplessness.

I learned an affordable lesson and now have a larger extinguisher and substantially more insurance.

True that they were lucky nobody got hurt but insurance money doesn't cover emotional ties. I've had my car for almost twenty years now and no amount of money is worth losing that history. I've said it before and I'll say it again....I wouldn't take a million bucks for my car.

Pretty scary thought Sieg. When I heard this happened to you I didn't think that it could have been worse but it could have.

Glad things worked out for the better.

"It is my belief that if you create a car with your bare hands, it has a soul. It was extremely hard to let her go. So before I watched her leave, I had a few minutes alone. I kissed her on her intake and wiped a tear from her hood and said goodbye". :lateral:

I'm with Mark, it's a CAR. Now, I can understand the sentimental value if you have memories of building it with your kids/Dad, or using it with your family, etc...

I got that in Sieg's second response. It's easy to be sensitive nowadays with first responders being at the top of every city's budget chopping block.

I 100% agree we have to be responsible for ourselves.

One thing I do know from 18 years on the job, if you are standing there watching your stuff burn or your family member suffer, that time from the 911 call to me stepping off the engine... hours.
