LOVE history and architecture. Not into the Fisherman's Wharf thing. Love micro beers and gastro pub type joints. NO candle sticks and suit jacket type places. Love Italian, Mexican, Asian and of course fresh seafood.....

If you eat mexican anywhere other than the mission district, you're making a mistake.

Look into Ozumo for Japanese (again, not far from FiDi).

Check out the Tomahawk Chop (giant Ribeye - best steak I've ever eaten) at Alexander's.

I am not a big seafood guy.

Tony's is one of the best. Tomasso's as well.

Gordon Biersh is nice with a great view, good beer and food. Get down to Pier 39 and make sure to get some fresh crab and some chowder in a San Francisco sour dough bread bowl.

I agree... The North Beach Restaurant has fantastic Italian. I also love the Stinking Rose... Lots of garlic.

Napa is only 45 min. away and if get lucky and have weather like we have has this weekend (65* and sunny) it will be worth the trip. The mustard is in full bloom in the vineyards. After a few glasses of Napa Valleys finest you never know what will happen :happy23:

We could eat Mexican food every night!

Napa is trouble...My wife wants to go to there right away, we might not do anything else if we start in wine country!

65 and sunny would be amazing. It was 30 here today with a high of 30 tomorrow and 12 on Tuesday.

Check out Puerto Allegre on Valencia between 16th & 17th streets. Stick around for the Super Bowl and watch Frisco go crazy. I would also check out Off the Grid and the SOMA Streat Food Park. They have a different selection of food trucks. Nothing like the old school roach coaches. Depending on the location of Off The Grid they also have live music.

Jose, great call. So many good places in the mission I didn't even list any. Puerto Allegre is one for sure.

Off the Grid is a great but what once a month?

The Soma street food park was just opening when I moved out of the city but looked killer.

Sonoma Raceway at the entrance to Sonoma / Napa

Sonoma Raceway

01/26/13 8:00am - 5:00pm Test-n-Tune & Chassis Certification

01/27/13 Bracket Drag Races

A place to stop on your drive to SONOMA / NAPA!

Sausalito is a nice stop after crossing the Golden Gate Bridge on way to Sonoma / Napa.

Mustards Grill is a great place to eat.

A winery not to miss is the Inglenook winery. It has been restored by Francis Ford Coppola.
