Being new to the PT build I'm presume there are many ways to get the results each person is after. My understanding and the way I planned my build was to do the mini tub while I was replacing quarter panels, assemble an install my rear suspension set up, then measure and order the rim & tire combination to fill the big hole I just created. Is that not why I'm going to have to order a set of these super expensive PT type wheels I keep seeing on these builds? :headscratch:

I had a measure of my diff today ,, its a tru trac moser ,, it has big drums,, did they use ford rear brakes on some of these? Im sure i saw a ford logo stamped into the backing plate somewhere when i purchased it? will that be a factor with getting rear discs or are the axle flanges the same stud pattern? sorry i got a lot of questions here ,, i also thought narrowing each side 2.5 would bring the saddles very close to the axle flange.. my 69 camaro has 55 inch rear end wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface that's 5 inches shorter then stock wheels are 18x12 5.5 back spacing fits perfect in my car

Vince , i do already have a chev pattern tru trac Moser rear,, but im thinkin i have ford big brakes as it got the torino bearings ? I just thought the flange pattern maybe different to a stock chev flange pattern, ill have to measure it..THe spring pad mount on the diff would be very close if i narrowed it to 55 inches.. do they end up being that close to the disc and bracketry?

Tony,
So a 1969 Camaro stock hub to hub is 60"? I was told the Z28 is 58"? Are they different for different X codes? Just asking. Gav, As Vince suggested, brakes also may play a role. I'll probably go with the stock width rear and stock dish making replacement a cinch. I'm going with Moser full floater (steel hubs) and PBRs on Willwood GT rotors. GMR makes the mounts for the PBRs and a sweet little parking prake optiion. At 58" as a standard width it will be easier to get a replacement if needed. I'm sure Moser can and will make any width but they have specific widths already in stock. And from what I see they have good prices. Are you dead set on keeping the 12 bolt? Just a thought.
