And a comparable 1st Gen to keep up with this will perhaps only cost 5 times as much and everything is already sorted.

One hell of a bargain irregardless of price. Just to think this will probably be only a little bit more than what it costs to do a full PT suspension makeover. :G-Dub: Its only money right? Kudos to GM and the engineers for building it.

I wonder what the ZL1 and 1LE owners are like now that this car came out. I looked at both the 1LE and the ZL1 a couple of months ago and couldn't pull the trigger because I still don't like the body style on the 5th gen Camaro. I tried to like it, but I couldn't see paying for a car that doesn't look good in my eyes/opinion.
This does look better the previous years and with the LS7, it may sell some cars. I think more of the 5th gen Camaro drivers are automatics and that may hurt this sell, but they can always buy the ZL1 with an auto and more horsepower too. So, win-win for Chevrolet.

This is a win for the 5th gen Camaros. Instead of just throwing the z28 tag on an unworthy car, they did it right. The front and taillights look much better.

didn't really take to the fifth gens, and kinda thought white and black was a little overdone, till now. Congrats Chevy, well done!

I want one but the tail lights look like they were taken out of the 66 Impala parts bin.

I'm impressed by the automaker reaching outside the normal "performance enhancements" box, and actually building something that real performance oriented folks would design themselves. Perhaps GM sent Mark in as a "spy" of sorts, to really see what this crowd was building. On second thought, he schooled us, so that's probably not the case. Lol.
High five, GM!

I think the car is near perfect. I just wish GM could field new performance variants at a faster clip. ZL1 took them 3yrs and the Z28 may have taken 4.

The new Viper lost a race to a ZR1 at Laguna Seca and Ralph Giles came out with a faster Viper in 3 months, lol.

I am with you on this statement.

Well it is intended as a track car from the factory right? (removed sound deadener and trunk carpet)

It isn't competing with European road cars and the like, so which is it that you want?

Agreed

I couldn't have said it better. I am a Chevy guy but first a Camaro guy and no matter how much I try to like the 5th gen I just feel they missed the mark. Look at the Mustang and Challenger.... They closely resemble the car of old. Chevy was sitting on the best looking muscle car platform EVER made! I am not sure why the tried to re-invent the the wheel with the 5th gen car. However this is the first one I have been excited about. You guys keep talking tail lights but I am thinking they finally got the front fascia a little closer to the mark!
