Thanks everyone.
This car is more of a weekend driver. I don't track it and don't really want to get a setup I won't get the benefit of. The Speedtech kit with uppers and lowers and the QA1 coil overs is probably more than I need but I think it will solve my steering stability issues, though I don't think I really need the QA1 coil overs? I'm a little unsure about having extra caster built into the upper or lower CAs. I've read in some places that one or the other can cause fender clearance issues?? I need to get some solid info on that. I know the aftermarket arms will be a big improvement but still unsure of which to go with. Thanks |
Jim - The biggest advantage I can see from coil-overs is being able to easily and accurately dial in your ride heights and they should save a little weight. One thing you'll benefit from is quality shocks with valving tailored to your driving tendencies. You'll forget about having the right geometry once it's properly aligned, but with todays crappy road surfaces you'll constantly be reminded of mediocre shock valving with every pothole and abrupt road surface transition. Do your shock homework too!

There are no drawbacks to having the caster in the upper if you wanted to run 7 deg of caster which is way too much you may have some issues with the wheel being further back in the wheel well, but at 4-5 deg it has not been an issue. with wheel fitment or performance. |
