I have DuPont hot hues on the car now and am happy with the quality, just not the 2 tone colors.

After going over the car once again in writing..the cost jumped from $7k to 10K. Wow..maybe I should of lived with the 2 tone after all. Is this a halfway normal price for getting paint job that requires no body work. Just a disassemble, paint & reassemble. He said that this car is so nice that he wants to take his time with it and it could take about 3-4 weeks.

The paint job on my Brother in laws Camaro was 18K --- with some minor bodywork -- and all trim removed etc - but was not a color change even though all the jambs etc got shot. His car looks fantastic -- and includes a Mitch Kim silver leaf paint separation...

I'd want my car to be painted with the EXACT same brand/system that the car already has if it's not going to bare metal ---- because the last thing I'd want to have down the road is a compatibility issue.

The paint cost is probably 3K at least in materials -- and the rest is labor... so depending on the labor rate -- 11K sounds about right to me for a scuff and shoot. My guess is though -- once the car is in the shop and torn apart -- the price takes another jump "because we found such and such".

3-4 weeks is pretty quick unless he's solely working on that car. Some guys are focused though. Just don't pay for anything but materials up front.

Yeah I wish It was 3-4 weeks. Its going on almost 3 months now. Finally getting ready for some paint. I decided on a gunmetal grey called grigio silverstone. Here's some pic's of it getting prep'd.
