Yes I've used the Fuser products in the past, they are nice work very well. The only thing is for what you are trying to do the flexible may still move to much as it is flexible. Fuser also has a rigid foam that will do the same as the 3m product. If you unsure do a test first on a junk part? Stop by a body shop and ask them if they a an old trunk or hood you can have to play with, then try both products in the inner and see which one will give the most support?

Let us know how you make out. I've seen that same issue with the aftermarket decklids. Like Rick said for the 1st gens an original one is ideal..
The 3M Panel bond would help. It would be best I you could remove the skin and grind all surfaces down to bare metal and re install the skin onto the inner structure.

I know its been awhile but just an update on my trunk lid. I drilled the lip with 1/8 drill bit and plug welded then added the rigid pillar foam and bingo shes nice now!!!!! Trunk lid feels real nice and sturdy!! Thanks guys for all the help!

I uses a spot welder on them in 4-6 places. Takes care of any flexing once I get it where I want it.

Any pictures on where exactly this 1/8 wholes / spot welds are located.

The welds are on the very edge of the inner trunk lid lip. Its where the outer skin meets the inner structure. I hope this helps.
