the v8 option is going to be at or LESS than the Mustang GT the v8 is LS2, 400hp. LS7 is not likely but the idea has not been dismissed. the camaro will have a lot of the technology from the C6 incorporated into it also. this is going to be a great car for the money. you will most likey see production around fall of 2007 as an '08 model. start saving you $$$$! |
They need to bring back the COPO and offer the ls7

In 1969, you could get RS w/chrome bumper, RS with Endura, Non-RS with chrome bumper, Non-RS with Endura...With the different combinations and the colors it was possible to have four really distinct looks. And then added onto that, silver or black grilles, depending on trim levels, exterior colors, etc! The potential combinations were practically endless. OK SOAPBOX TIME: If the General is listening: MAKE THE CAR AVAILABLE IN A DECENT RANGE OF COLORS, FOR GOD'S SAKE. If they bring Camaro to market with the standard GM color pallete of: white/black/silver/champagne/red/dark green/dark blue ...that will be a very sad thing to see, and a huge missed marketing opportunity. The MIS technology and materials management capability that we have today is light years ahead of what was available in the sixties, yet, somehow, in 1969 it was no problem for GM to offer ~18 exterior colors and what, 6 or 7 interior colors, for Camaro? Today, we can go down the street and get TOASTERS in 12 colors, but we can't be flexible enough in manufacturing, to produce something as expensive as a friggin' CAR, in more than a half-dozen colors??? Cost reduction has been taken too far and has driven out choice, and that is just plain wrong, for a car like this!! Take this strategy with the family sedans and Saturns, maybe, but NOT with Camaro. In addition, GM should seriously consider following VWs example with their use of limited, "one year only" colors. Brings tremendous brand recognition and individuality. Example: My nephew is not a car guy AT ALL. He has a new Beetle. In the car with him one day, he sees another (bright yellow) Beetle go by, and says, "Oh, look, there's an '01.... Sunflower Yellow" Now THAT is marketing power. OK I'm done. -R |
Yeah I agree an RS package would be fantastic  I'd be willing to bet there will be a hipo version out a year or two into production. Once the gleam of the C6Z wears off they will likely stuff the LS7 into the SS and then offer a supercharger on the Z.
I honestly think GM is too big to offer more than a couple interior colors. Black leather, and maybe a two tone dark grey/black on the RS. I do like the idea of one year colors. Just so long as they make a very very dark metallic purple/sapphireish color :D We'll see if they can follow through with the goods or fumble it. In which case it will be back to the hemi challanger  rwhite- A guy driving, and recognising a bug with the name "sunflower yellow" is something... don't know if i'd call it marketing, but it's something :willy: |
Wow, thank you those are awesome!!
Love the night shots! :wow:  :hail: |
