proprietary drop for Global West upper arms is done. everything is cleaned up and painted, and a light coat of undercoating applied.

spindles cleaned up, read for paint,

the "great pumpkins" door jambs look like heck. You would have thought they could have wiped them down with lacquer thinner before applying the Elway Orange. I need a spring on my lower hing due to my doors not staying open.

Joe, if you post enough pics, you can pretty much do anything you want on here.

Joe that's the way to build some Torino momentum.
Hand crafted jackstands, you are a cut above:D

What do you have planned for brakes? What color do you plan on painting it if you get rid of the "pumpkin"?:popcorn2:

Rob,

I had to get the "great pumpkin" elevated so I came up with that saw horse idea. I had those "back" pallets under the front tires at one time. I put the craftsman stands under/near the torque area. I am 6'7", and somewhat round too, at 275. I can now move around underneath and work on the TKO, the quicktime, etc.

For the front brakes I have already purchased the CSRP Kelsey Hayes style replacements. They are nothing fancy, but will bolt to my spindles, and the car will be a little safer. The old distribution block on the driver side fender was froze when I bought the car. I didn't know about that system when I bought the car, and how the slider in the block functioned. I bought two used ones, both were froze. I am replacing all of it now. The back will remain the large drums for now.

My Cragars are 16 x 7, and those are new Falkens, 235-60, I don't think that is a Pro Touring size or style, but they will get me by until they wear out, or I accidentally melt them with the TKO, and the 3:50 gearing. I would like to have 17" steel wheels, with a dog dish. When I bought the Cragars, I got them off C-list cheap, and they were in great shape. I didn't know the 16" size would be a pain to get tires for. They have a 5" back space.

The paint, hmmm not sure, I am all over the place on that. I sort of want it to look sinister if that makes sense. The formal roof 428 Cobra cars were always my favorite without the chrome, and outside marking. I am not shooting for a clone, but I am thinking of taking off all but the front and back GT marking, and having it be a darker tone. Maybe a grey, silver, or something similar. When I was working on the rear driver quarter window I had all the interior out. I was disappointed to find out someone had done a hack job on replacing that quarter panel. I will be in for a cash lay out on that side when the body work stage comes along. The "great pumpkin" may just get sanded down and get a hot rod satin black for a few years, lol.

BTW, that trim down the side's is off a Fairlane and makes no sense how it got there. Someone would have had to put all those little studs in the GT body, or special order it.

I am attacking all the mechanical's, make it safe and enjoy it for a while. I think Kasey would like to drive it a few times too, lol. I also am changing that horrible front suspension, and hope to go to a Borgeson steering box, I already have their PS pump.

Someone asked what the plans were for the 351, nothing else as of yet. It is a rebuilt unit, It seemed really strong for the five miles I put on it after the cam break in, lol. It has a Comp cam with 268 duration, .456 lift, 110 lobe separation. I have a Weiand Stealth intake, and a Edelbrock 600 CFM carb.

Clutch is in, working on slave cylinder, and clutch fork fitment. The fork I ordered was the wrong one, I had to use my daughter's T5 fork which appears to be just right.

I bought a Horror Freight jack to help install the TKO since Kasey is working now. In January I tore my rotator cuff installing the TKO when it fell off the motorcycle jack, but I saved the transmission, but not my shoulder.

Mocking up the install here...

Rosehill performance slave cylinder bracket. I had to use a bolt for a pushrod to get a picture. I need to trim the stainless pushrod prior to install.
