You know I thought I wanted one of these but after seeing that the wipers don't do much at 158 mph I think I'll have to pass :confused18: :_paranoid

So was that Mark driving??

I want to know if Mark was driving, too.

how come you don't see any muttstangs or shelbys on the ring. are they scared to compete against the general or what??

They aren't scared. I guess ford puts more focus on drag racing than road corse. Chevy doesn't stand a chance on the strip. And a factory camaro hasn't been 200mph yet. I still believe the mustang is a much better car and will be even better when the next generation comes out.

I noticed he hit a little over 7000 rpm at one point but maintained around 6000 down the straight. Wonder why he didn't push it any harder down the straight?

Go Seahawks! j/k!

I do believe the next gen Mustangs will be a better car. The argument carries little weight IMO until the showroom versions both hit the road course heads up. Oh wait, didn't one of the magazines do that in the last year?

I noticed that appeared he over-revved it between corners early in the run vs shifting.....didn't hear a rev limiter kick in either. The rest of the time it looked like he was shifting @ 6,500-6,800.

161 mph was max I observed......wind conditions, stock aero, running out of ponies? Less than ideal track condition? That lap time was decent IMO considering the track looked like it could have been spotty wet/dry in many areas that it wasn't raining.

Either way, what a great track car right off the showroom floor!

Could have been a combo of weather conditions and aero. Either way he still laid down a fantastic lap time beating the 911 and the Lambo  :flag2:

Gotta remember he was going that speed with "only" 505hp. That's not too shabby.

Of all the 5th-gens this is the one I would happily park in the garage. Hopefully the "Z" moniker carries over to the next generation.
