600 RWHP will get you WELL into the 10s... I'm with the rest of them and say look into NOS, it will get you into the 12s fairly easy and save you a ton of time and money.

I agree with the rest of these guys about going nitrous, a stock engine should be able to handle a 150 shot. I have seen more but you are risking it. Look at a plate system, it sits between the carb and intake, easy install. But you have to make sure your engine is tuned very well otherwise you will have problems but that goes with any power adder. I was also building an engine for turbo but it was just out of my price range so i went nitrous, but my engine isn't a mild build either.

a "dry" system would be a nitrous only shot, normally used on efi motors where the injectors "can" add extra fuel.

a "wet" system adds both nitrous and fuel, either by plate or by nozzles.

for your set up you want to run a plate system, a seperate elec fuel pump just for the nitrous fuel side, 150 shot "should" be fine on a cast motor as long as you have fuel to go with the NO2, dont forget to retard the timing.

nitrous

so i would need an elect fuel pump on top pf my mechanical.

Here is the nitrous kit you need. http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...tegoryId=14689

Adding a turbo or turbos will probably hurt your motor and cost you a good bit of time and money. You should be able to safely run one of these nitrous kits as long as you follow the instructions, take 2 degrees of timing out for every 50 HP and tweak it from there, check the plugs for lean or fat conditions and either adjust the fuel pressure or timing up or down depending on what the electrodes look like. Easy cheesy.

check to see if you have a place near you for filling the nos tank they dont last long. the next cheapest item i think would be a small blower like the b&m 144 they make good power for what they are i used one on a stock motor for 8 yrs with no problems 7 psi of boost ran like a mild big block.

Nos

thanks guys iwill look into it...got to see how my money pans out and i will go from there..
