And then I find this thread, about the new style U-Clip screw style fitting failing.
So it turns out that both can fail, I guess?
My plastic clip fitting is supposedly a new design over the original plastic clip fitting. Since everything made by man has the possibility of failing, what do you do?

After reading that thread, I'm going to just use the U style and loctite it. I think it probably just vibrated loose over time and loctite should prevent that.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking right now.
My wife is a mustang person. She's had 3 really nice ones, and as I recall, changing her fuel filter on one of those cars, the filter was held on with plastic clips. It was aggravating, and seemed cheesy, but it worked.
But I refuse to spend good money on my car, only to have it burn to the ground because of a $10.00 part.

One of the parts that failed I believe was not a Russell design but I cannot for-sure confirm. Either way, the U-nut is far better but one must always practice proper tightening of any nut. Suspension, engine, etc., they all must be properly tightened.

There's also these from Earl's. The retaining clip is likely the same as those used on the current LS3 based fuel system (it looks almost identical.)

Sorry, I don't know if there was any change. As far as faultless, that's a pretty hard claim to make.

Could someone pro like CarlC create oem style fuelline kit with nylon hoses and easy to adapt fittings? I am bit tired of heavy steelbraided hoses and all an adapters.

You can go with the kevlar braided hose Pegasus sells. I'm using their regular braided hose on my Jeep, but I am going braided front to rear (PTFE lined, so no chance of smell or seepage).

I'm pretty sure mine came with the kind that are on the right in the picture in your thread. If you look at the second picture on the speedway link it shows that type. I believe that's what I have, but I'll check.
I have confirmed that my kit did in fact contain the "U" type so I'm good to go. Speedway should probably change their image so they don't lose sales due to people thinking they have the other type of fitting.

can I get those fittings for -8 lines vice -6 or do I need an adaptor? Thanks

The U-nut design is available from Russell in AN8 sizes. I don't have the part number with me, but the AN6 is 644120. Search the Russell website and it should get you close.
