Ron, question.... what makes AP's 2 offerings "not compatible with other fluids"?

That's a great question. I don't know the answer. AP says it won't mix well with other fluids.

I ran AP in my race cars, but I didn't know you couldn't mix with other brands...but then again I would never consider mixing brands.
Good info Ron. I had very similar results with my late model cars brake temps.

I priced shopped and found the Castrol SRF to only be a little more expensive than Motul 660 on a per unit basis. Thinking of trying one of those based on your reviews Ron.

Thanks!

Castro SPF is a bit spendy but defintely looks like a good choice.

Unless you actually KNOW your temps -- it seems to be a waste of money if your temps are nowhere close to where this is rated.

Not much point in spending money on fluid that can withstand 600* if you only ever see 350...

My big take-away from discussions like this -- is that from now on I'll take readings of the brakes at the tracks we run -- and I'll make sure my fluid is correct for the application.

Good point Greg but since I've swithed to the Motul I haven't experienced any brake fade. The motto, "if it aint't broke no need to fix it " comes to mind. :D

When I tracked my car, I used to run the ATE blue and regular, alternating each time I flushed as it made it easy to see when the 'new' fluid was coming through. The ATE seemed to be a decent price for what I needed it to do.

Well since Greg is pretty much faster than you at T-Hill, I will go with what he is using to start out. :D

...... and that's when the fight broke out!

Motul 600 because as we dial the car in and I figure out what is "wonky" with my brakes on the Mustang --- and I start running 2.05's the brakes will be worked more - thus bringing up the temps.
