Although many people agree that it would have been nice to see Bourque receive the same fate as the officers that's he shot, I have to say I am very proud of the officers that took him alive. It took a lot of strength not to pull the trigger. Don't get me wrong, there is definitely part of me that wanted to see him shot. I read an interview with one of the ERT (swat) members who said everyone there so badly wanted to kill him, but they are cops first and acted accordingly. Unfortunately I wasn't able to go to the funeral but watched it on tv. Very hard to watch but seeing the sea of red makes me very proud to be a Mountie.

I can understand & respect the restraint, but think of the Future Pain that would have been eliminated if they had put this creature down.
