Well that doesn't suck!

How long have you all been working on this car?

tombar67 07-22-2014 10:34 PM

Great job! Really excited to see how it comes out. Curious about the dash also.

The engine is a 441 LS7 from Texas Speed and the I believe the cage is Chassisworks. I'm sure Paul can give you guys more detail, but I work 3rd shift and figured I'd fill the other night owls and left coasters in with what I know.

Very nice Paul. Top notch build. So you replaced 67 dash with 69?

Thanks Jay! Yes the 67 dash was all rusted out so we decided to just replace it with a 69 dash. We first saw it on Stielows car and decided to go ahead and do it on this build. Really turned out cool with the DSE Dash insert.

Looks awesome fellas!

Who built the motor and cage? Can you post some pics of the way the cage runs through the A pillars and dash?

Thanks Ron! Texas Speed built the engine. Great service and a pretty decent turn around time. The cage is a chassisworks deal that we modified and added a few things. It was a nice starting point and also saved some time. I will post a few more picture of it coming through the dash for you.

Thanks Rick! Yes our team has been crazy busy around the shop. It is never a dull moment that is for sure. I have a great group of guys that really have a great passion for these cars. We are very lucky to be able to have the privilege of building some really cool cars for people.

Thanks Curtis! It did suck for sure. I felt very bad for my customer as he bought it from a guy he knew who told him it was in final prime and just needed to be blocked out and painted. We had the car up on the hoist looking and started finding more and more messed up spots..it was time to head to the blast to uncover some sins!:superhack:
We have had this car for a little over a year. Working on and off with other work flow in the. It has come a LONG ways. We are about 2-3 weeks away from paint. We just final primed it yesterday.

Thanks! The install was not bad at all. It needed to have a complete dash installed anyways. So it made the decision that much easier.

Love it! Nice work.

Nice custom touches

Really impressive work. Neat trick with the dash, going to be a great visit for the customer to see the car done right. Was curious about the hood hinges, are they painted or what? Never seen hinges in yellow before. Has the customer decided on the color scheme yet? This is a great build to follow.

I believe that is yellow tape used to protect the finish on the hood hinges.
