For those of you that do not know much about diabetes, your eyes are one of the areas that it will attack and onces it does look out!!

So for the next two weeks I have to sit and lay with my head facing the floor  oh and i have to sleep that way as well.

45 years and this will be my first surgery not a bad run I guess :knock:

Where you having flashes of light and or new floaters?

WoW! That blows! What are the symptoms? I've heard of that on old top fuel drivers, but that was it. Will say a little prayer for your speedy recovery!

On the massage 'script, might make sure you specify.... Cause since you can't see and all, it may not be good to have a dude massaging your glute's!! LoL! :action-smiley-027:

Thanks guys for the well wishes and all the text!! As Marty said im doing good, went back today for my follow up and everything looks good presure in the eye is a little high but not to bad considering I was in surgery for 2 1/2 hours.

I had 3 holes in my left retnia that he had to fix 1 at 11 o'clock 2 at 1 o'clock. The biggest issue was if the blood in my eye came out easy which it did.

After he fixed the retnia he did lazer to the abnormal blood vessels which is what caused all the issues from the start.

Now its just a matter of waiting to see where my vision ends up in that eye, he says because I'm young i should gane most if not all of it back. I will lose some of my peripheral vision from the lazer, but thats common it happened in my right eye.

Now i get to sit here with my chin touching my chest for the next two weeks!! Yes my neck already hurts!

Thanks again guys!!

One of my best buddies had Diabetes... Management of that took a lot of this time. We used to ski a couple days a week and he was always careful to manage his blood sugars. He did have lots of undesirable side affects but never let it stop him from what he wanted to do.

Yeah I'm in the best shape of my 45 years, i watch what eat and hit the gym on a regular bases. My mom has diabetes and it tore up her kidneys now she on dailies (sp?) 4 times a week; stage 4 kidney disease. Yup I'm not letting it keep me down, well not after the next four weeks that is!!

A massage table might be a decent investment (prescription maybe?)

And a busty masseuse / nurse in uniform (short skirt, high heels) of course! I'm sure your wife won't mind. Of course you won't be able to see her, and you know, laying on your belly can cause some discomfort in that, umm, 'state'

Take care Bro!
