To me, it is perfectly streetable once you get the hang of it. In fact, I'm in the process of driving it from Oshkosh, WI to Bowling Green, KY for the Holley LSFesf. Andrew |
Thanks Andrew. That's good to hear. Have fun at LSFest.

Great video Andrew! Which technique was harder to master up-shifting or downshifting? I have a Tex T-10 that I've gone back and forth on putting in my car. My biggest concern was damaging the gear sets when downshifting. Thanks!

Something to be said for that. The gear whine of an M22 in a GTO is a great high school memory of mine(this was 1999 and it was still cool)

I can tell you that I have ATTEMPTED to downshift without the clutch with my Jerico dog box.... I will never do it again. When Road racing - coming into a corner - and just "blipping" the throttle - while the clutch is still engaged - is NOT what I want on corner entry... and just jamming the lower gear - causes immediate compression.... unsettling the car.... another thing I don't want on corner entry!
I don't know if the "pros" can drive this way -- but I certainly can't! Like Bob Bondurant once told me -- the motor is to make the car move - the transmission is a gear SELECTOR - and the Brakes slow the car down... Don't mix 'em up! LOL |
