What's funny is that I typed my last post before reading your reply.. lol..

Show him my car.. it wouldn't look nearly as good with polished billet wheels. I get more comments on the wheels than the car.

What's cool is a variation of a factory stripe.. like a hockey stripe, ralley stripes or some variation of those. Will never ever go out of style.

I like the dark, warm pewter color on that honda. Though it is in the neutral family, it has it has a different and timeless look to it. I like the idea of a subtle color break somewhere. I would probably go with a few shades darker, then match the wheels to that accent color.

Silver/pewter (neutrals) have been the most popular colors for new cars for almost 15 years now. They're easy to keep clean, look refined and european and are incredibly sellable. That's why home contractors always put gray/tan carpets and paint off-white walls. They're affraid to turn anyone away by taking a risk on the color. Bright red, Black, Blue and silver are timeless on cars. The other colors can be a little more risky since they are somewhat polarizing. Aqua/teal were huge in the 90s, now they look incredibly dated. Oranges, Coppers and Tangerine pearls are popular now but in 10 years....who knows.....

Thanks, as for the few shades darker, do you mean with the titanium color? I like the honda color b/c of how different it is, as well as the lambo color, there def. not your everyday color. As for the wheels, I'm not sure of those, I will prob have to go with a 3-pc, I just don't know if a wheel like steves design will look good on the chevelle. As for wheel sixes, right now were thinking 18x11 or 19x11 in the rear and 18x9.5 up front. thanks for your input

A mesh wheel in a larger diam., ie. 18" and up will make anything look good...atleast that's what I think.

Silver centers on a multi piece wheel will give you a high dollar, classy, and clean look. Darker centers just look all business, but nice at the same time! It really just depends on the look/statement you and your car are trying to make.

I'm also trying to decide what color wheels to go with....perhaps charcoal. My car has a real performance feel to it and I think a darker wheel with a pollished lip would look best in my case....

Let us know what you decide!

If you go the BMW dealer look at the interlagos blue. Its an M3 color. It looks classy and sharp.

Check out Medium Spiral Gray Metallic. 04 Corvette Color. This is what I plan to use on my 65 Chevelle. They have two diferent paint codes, one has a slight green tone to it and the other is a slight blue tone. I am using the green tone and keeping the factory aqua interior color.

color choice

have to agree with the subtle color choices.painted a 70 pickup about 15 years ago a sea foam green and man that thing sticks out like a sore thumb.if by chance you happen to be running along slightly above speed limit you are the only vehicle the police will see.not that i condone speeding.my car will be painted a silverish gray green found on the new impalas.just ordered a set of boze wheels with gray centers and polished lip.plan to paint factoy hockey stripe on side in the dark gray to compliment wheel.to each their own?

Im in the planning stages for a 70 Chevelle that should be pretty different when im done... Without giving to much away im going to do a Black car with Chrome paint and that new Caddilac silver. Going with air rides with 22's in the back and 19 in the front. I like this setup most do not most are with the 20's 18 setup i feel that with the off set it gives it a much meaner look. Paint is so hard to get a feel for just looking at in on other cars from my experience the are so many different things u can do with every color. My advice to anyone that is gunna spent the money to get a great paintjob done is to get a newcomputer rendering done. That way u can get the best idea without spending the money, less chance u will b unhappy.
