GMs design was to shorten the plug wires for better performance.

IMO relocating and running longer wires is a step backwards.:underchair:

i'd like to see some data on that. more resistance equals longer coil dwell time = hotter spark ....but in in fact we maybe talking less than an ohm or two. :underchair: :trophy-1302: :D :sarcasm_smiley:

Leon thats Desiree Elyda.

Hey Vince I just might have to make something up of my own when the time comes and head over to your shop to bend it on that nice Magnetic Brake of yours.

I mounted mine on the front subframe (67 Camaro), using some mounts I found on eBay. The red arrow is where the Vintage Air hardline wanted to run before I rebent it.

Coil pack harness wires run behind the fender, plug wires run along the side of the engine and down to the packs.

Thanks for the link Leon. Greg, I've looked at various valve covers but decided to go for an old school look using original Chevrolet script valve covers.

I talked to Brian Thomson (Stielow's engine builder), but he doesn't recommend relocating the coils. You might contact the greening auto company, but they do custon machining. They do have a design similar to billet specialties, but have them machine it to look like old school valve covers. $$$

Jeff, did Brian Thomson say why he doesn't recommend moving the coil packs?

I've no problems with mine. I hid mine in the inner fenders behind the battery and same spot on other side.

If you don't have the engine set back too far, I've mounted them on the rear of the cylinder heads using brackets I made, and ran new wires under the headers. Looked really clean. Attachment 56070Attachment 56071
