The part to build your own e-stopp is called a linear actuator with a 2"stroke. The one e-stopp uses has a 600lb pull rate I believe and the ones that can be found cheaper are about 250lb which I think would be plenty. They use them on handicap vehicles.
All the parts are sold on ebay including the wiring. You'll just have to build a box and run the cable/ set tension which you would have to do anyways with the e-stopp I'm going to put one together myself as well and mount it in the trunk by the rear seat. |
