Here's to hoping I'm wrong.

Funny, I was thinking the same when I saw this topic two days ago.

If Mark was feeling really generous, he could post more detailed stuff for us hardcore types AFTER the content hit the magazine. Just saying... :D

I get what you guys are saying, but most of his cars make the magazines. He's thrown up quite a few build threads of the others, so why is this one different?
Again, I'm hoping that Charlie, or even Mark himself will chime in.

What I read was in simple terms DSE frame and suspension, big brakes, and all the other goodies without the paint &body work they are trying to portray a "simple" build that the average joe could build without again the paint & body price tag....

If anyone has heard differently please correct me.

Definitely interested in a new Stielow build myself!

And..... This one is targeting moderate (650) HP goals vs. one-upping the previous build(s).

I was sort of hoping there would be a build thread here as well. Magazine builds are so stripped down they offer almost nothing but pretty pictures and we know and love most of the vendors already. I love Mark's builds and frequently "borrow" his good ideas. Learning about the engine would be really cool. I am sure a lot of thought has to go into that!
Plus, I am sort of protesting Super Chevy because I am still stinging from the cancellation of Camaro Performers. They still send "bait" e-mails that say Camaro Performers but when you open them it is just Super Chevy. Sort of irritated me I guess!

I did start a build tread on this car but stopped because I am building it up with Chevrolet High Performance Magazine. I have not done a magazine build up in a long time so I thought it would be fun. So far it has been. I purchased the green beauty off Charley Lillard after talking him into purchasing it off EBay.

The car has a super cool original paint with a DX1 strip. The two super long lead things on a build are paint and engine builds. So I thought why not do a pintina car with a crate engine. I have been able to drive a bunch on LT4 powered GM vehicles and love the way that engine works. The ZL1 fixed all the cooling issues and that car hauls and does not get hot.

This car is for fun and not an effort to win Optima. I had a great run at Optima but I'm done chasing it for now.

I will add a build tread on this project after it runs on line or in print in CHP.

I feel the LT4 will be a popular swap soon. There are a few tech issue to work out and I'll publish / post them when I sort it out. The original build will be a stock LT4 but we are already looking at performance mods.
