Just wondering who has the following set up in his 1st gen camaro:
-Speedtech performance front clip
-Autokraft oil pan and their engine adapter plates and mounts
-Stainless steel works header (speedtech headers).

I know Evade Camaro has got this exact set up.

The reason why I am asking is that the unisteer rack and pinion mounting bracket was modified due to clearance issues caused by Milodon oil pan.

I recently replaced the Milodon oil pan with Autokraft Oil pan and also got their engine adapter plates and mounts.

I tried to install the rack and pinion at its proper mounting position on the Speedtech subframe. Unfortunately, I ran into two issues:

1) steering box high and low pressure ports were touching the oil pan ( very tight fit)

2) the shaft that fits between the u joint was a bit short due to the previous modification made as a result of clearance issues by Milodon oil pan.

Will appreciate your input guys on the following:
- is it normal to have a very tight fit ( steering box ports and oil pan)

-I had to order a new steering column shaft ( it is 23" that needs to be shortened). So could somebody tell me the required shaft length with the set up listed above?

I addressed the issue with the tight fit to Speedtech team, unfortunately no response yet.

Looking forward to getting your input guys.

I have speed tech front and rear suspension. GM Bowtie block, autocraft pan, ultimate headers 17/8 tube. Everything fit perfectly only thing I did was cut the engine stands and move the engine back a additional 1/2 inch for added clearance for the elbow off the throttle body and better weight distribution. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e4eefb9ed2.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...1f248d81f5.jpg
