haha, that's awesome, glad to see i'm not alone in the engine dept. I'm looking for some 220 AFR's or maybe a set of track 1's, anyone got any advice on which cylinder heads to use? what flow best after work? i know both the aforementioned really wake up with porting, and i'm looking for heads that will be able to get into the 300 cfm range. anyone? anyone? i just need them bare, dunno where to look since this is kinda sudden

Hey Kman, name's Russ, glad to meet ya, now which Auburn are you from? NH? Maine? Mass? Every state has one up here  anywho, I assume you're 'rockin' the first gen camaro style and keeping it 'real' with all the other amazing folks on this site, god I love those cars. My engine will be going into a seriously redone '72 Olds Cutlass :)
russ, nice to meet ya too. my name's karl. im in auburn nh, the otherside of manchester from ya. yes i have a 1st gen with a 414 BBC and AFR 305 heads. should be done within a month to 6 weeks.

that sounds so delicious it made my mouth water. My engine finally made it onto the dyno, but turns out one of the heads had a small crack in it and started leaking coolant into the exhaust... bummer. So.... for now he's having a welder look at what he can do to repair them, while at the same time scrounging for some bare castings that are readily available, since the 220 AFR's i want have a 14-16 week wait on them  i just need some heads man :(

hey spatz, ever look into canfields? They are available, not terribly expensive, and flow great right out of the box. A friend bought em instead of the unavailable afr220's he wanted, his 3,08 geared 350 vette runs low 11's on motor, mid 10's on 200 shot.
i have looked into canfields and they seem very nice, only trouble is they only run a 65cc combustion chamber, which would definetly hamper my ability to use street gas without some serious timing attention  AFR's come with 76 cc chambers, which should make the compression right around 10.5, perfect for street gas and great for huge nitrous shots when used with c23 or 16. Thanks for the advice though, it is really appreciated

motor sounds sweet man, i hope it runs perfect for ya, can't wait to see the results. good luck.
