Just newer technology that's preferred over the old school style latch and striker.

the factory latches on 66-67 novas leave a lot to be desired.

What a fantastic build. Lots of subtle detail work involved and I love the door latches...they look like how the factory should’ve done it! Thanks for sharing!

That is purty--dig the color! With an LS and a rack in front, the choice of leaves and sliders is somewhat baffling. That said, if one does not intend to live on Tail of the Dragon, one does not necessarily need perfect axle location or hop control . . .
