hey jonny hit me up when your ready for 3rd gen camaro g-machines :thumbsup:

Exterior Paint Scheme - I actually don't have a strong preference, but maybe something silver, blue, red, or gold. I think something two tone with an accent stripe would be great. Perhaps white or silver sides with a red or blue top (hood, roof, trunk).

Wheel Options – I like the Kinesis Motorsport K58 (wheel “C”) in chrome, as it looks good in the picture and hasn't been done yet.

Hood Options – I like the Stock 1.5” Cowl Hood (Hood “B”).

Engine Options – I don't really care, I keep the hood closed when I display them.

Exhaust System Options – I like the Full Rear Exit Exhaust (Exhaust “B”) as it has only been done on one car. Perhaps the exhaust could be chromed at the tips.

Interior Options – I like the Street Fighter interior, it looks better to me. Maybe the seat fronts can match the body color with the seat belts in a contrasting color other than red.

Miscellaneous Options – I'd like to see all of the exterior options, perhaps the front and rear spoiler can be done in carbon fiber, similar to the way the GMP Pork Chop Camaro rear spoiler was done in aluminum. I'd like both side view mirrors painted in the body color. Maybe the engine parts can have carbon fiber accents, and the interior too. I also like the grill/headlight assembly from the GMP Brushed Aluminum Trans Am car the best.

The next Street Fighter

Good morning. I'd like to quietly toss in my two Lincolns if I could...

A young Georgia boy was given a set of keys by his uncle to a 1967 Camaro and told to "get the car competition ready". Excited at his first chance to impress his uncle he jumped at the chance. There sat a bare bones Camaro that only had two things going for it: a beautiful Dupont Pepper Gray Metallic paint job and a straight body. He would work a miracle in the next 2 weeks. The kid's uncle was one of the most well known and notorious (see brushes with the law) racers around GA and he couldn't let him down. Now ol' uncle PC knew a thing or two about going fast...but only in a straight line. The kid decided he'd show him something better. He'd incorporate performance all around and do it with style all at the same time. His inspiration came from the old Trans Am races back before he was born in the late 60's and early 70's. Sort of a tribute to that with one heck of a modern twist. His goal would be to make this Camaro a corner carver and a rocket in the straight away. After a ton of calls and cash, his grocery list looked like this:

1. Wheels- flat brushed/anodized silver Kinesis K18's with a polished lip.

2. Hood - 1.5" cowl induction

3. Engine- Crate LS2 with shades of aluminum, anthracite, gunmetal and black with matching graphics matching valve covers. His back up would be a 302 Cross Ram with the same color options and possibly black aluminum valve covers.

4. The exhaust would run the length of the car, exiting in the rear and would be flat black from the muffler back.

5. The interior would be a street fighter looking dark grey with black inserts.

6. Some of the miscellaneous things he'd add were shaved door handles and wiper blades, body colored calipers with 2nd accent color lettering (blue/grey), a blacked out grill and rear valance and the roll cage painted an anthracite grey to highlight the interior.

After assembling everything it didn't have quite the "I dare you" attention he wanted. It leaned too close to sleeper +nice wheels at first glance. Deciding that the new C6 Z06 Vettes had just the right shade, his final act was to paint it LeMans Blue, thinking he might name his creation Blue Devil. He incorporated into the paint a racing number 7, in silver, onto the hood sides and rear decklid to add to the modern day Trans Am look. Before the paint was dry and the paint gun put away he anxiously decided to take it out for testing. His goal besides eating most things on the street and track would be to pull 1 full Lateral G on the skidpad. In short it was a natural success only with one catch. As much as he was a great up and coming competition street fighting car builder, he was no good painter. By the time he was done burning rubber on the skidpad, he was only left with half of his new paint.

The bottom portion showed the original Pepper Gray Metallic and the top now sported a LeMans Blue ripped away (graphic style) with portions of bare metal showing down the length of the car. It was NOW perfect though. He drove to his uncle's house to show him the NEW era of classic muscle! :thumbsup: His license plate would soon read 1LATG.

So that's my pick. By the way...the colors to the car (LeMans Blue/Pepper Gray Metallic/Bare Metal Silver) are coincidentally similar colors found right here on the site. Obviously I wasn't the only one that thought these would look gorgeous on that ol' '67!

LOL! - That's great. I like puttin' a story to it possibly, it adds some creativity.

What do you guys all think about puttin' a number on the car - maiking it a sort of Trans Am tribute car???

I think a number will make it too similar to the Smokey Yunick Camaro, but that's just my opinion.

....yeah that's true. Or may make it too similar to the T/A Camaro series we do all together. Good point.

I think the Smokey Yunick Camaro has a great paint job, same with the Restomod Fairlane and Two Tone Silver/Black GTO. I'd like to see something along those lines, different color combo though. Perhaps it would be nice to experiment with chrome or silver door/window trim, as only the newest Camaro has it and it looks pretty good in pictures. What I'd really like to see is a grill with hidden headlights, though I don't think that's an option for this car.

I like the # idea. A newer, more subtle look is what I'd like to see though, not necessarily an entire sponsored, race inspired setup.

I agree on the blacked out trim. And every since I got it, I've been thinking of doing a Pro-Touring, street version of the Smokey Yunick Camaro.

No one else has any suggestions? :_paranoid
I'm don't really like the idea of number on the car. What about thin magnetic numbers, similar to what is used at an open track/SCCA event?
How about some other wheel suggestions. Budnik, Billet Specialties, ARE, etc. GMP might not be able to do them for this car, but they could still use the suggestions for future projects. Another thing I think would look good is a closeout panel like the one made by DSE.
