I am sure that Bob is disappointed, hell I am to. The one thing I will add is it awesome to have people out there like Bob who will push the highest envelopes of our industry and elevate every level of what we thought could be acheived in a street machine. For this I applaud him and also second the words of Craig in saying WTF! This also reopens the huge debate of how do you put a price on winning SMOY and having a a company like Hot Wheels get involved. Some would say not much, but I have a feeling Bob would say alot. Just not 500K worth!

I hope a "friend" of his was high bidder.

I could never let it go for that, especially after some of the junk that sells for similar price.

I'd much rather have the Hummer with 97 tv's!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was going pretty slow, then made one single jump from $350k to $500k.

Does anyone know what the most has ever been paid for a custom built car? What car holds the record?

If they say "patina" one more time, I'm on a plane to Scottsdale with a pair of plyers and a blowtorch!

I thought that jump in price was sort of odd. Not sure why someone would of made that jump when it seemed to stall out around mid 200's.

Not sure on the highest price custom. I think the Motion Camaro went for around $600k last year.

The jump in price was probably an effort to "protect" the sale price. Only a couple people know for sure and few will probably talk about it.

Hmmmmmm?s

What is most dissappointing to me is that this may discourage Bob and/or anyone else from pushing the envelope (in the Cuda's case tearing up the envelope) in our sport. Not very many people can afford to shell out the money to create something in that league and then take a significant loss on it when it sells.

I guess, I'll end my comments with thanking Bob and everyone involved for building the car. There were so many things on the car that will influence the future of the sport. It will be interesting to see what comes in the future. The bar has been set pretty high.
