I like that also. Anyone have more detailed info on the workings of this.

It is not going to be out for a few more months, May to June. We are in talks of using it for Lisa's car, but they are still working out some details right now and it may not be ready before we need it. I can tell you pricing will be in the $2900 range + a shift indicator And that does not include a transmission. My biggest question right now is does it improve or contribute to the high RPM shifting issues TKOs inherently have? And they simply do not know the answer to that question yet. The system will not actuate the clutch, but does have memory in the shifter so that you can actually pre shift it and it will shift instantly next time the clutch is depressed. That sounds pretty cool!

just solved problems that I saw in this set-up. My wife's M3 has the SMG transmission, you hit the paddle and it works the clutch and shifts the car. Only problem is when street driving and you leave an intersection and are needing to make a turn at the same time, half way through the turn you need to shift. Hard to hunt down the paddle when the wheel is turned or turning, so you use the shifter on the console.

Ouch! on the $2900...but a cool product I would like to try. I would also be curious on the speed of the shifts.

Hate to be the voice of dissention here, but, if you don't want to shift a Manual Shift car with a big motor, get the wife to drive for you or go automatic. I think the idea is cool if you could switch from paddle mode to shift it yourself, BUT, just full paddle mode all the time? C'mon dudes.

Spoken as a full on, love to shift gears, car guy. I've said it before and I'll say it again, If I could get a Golf Cart that had a 4 or 5 speed in it, I'd play golf all the time.

I kinda agree. I think it's an awesome setup, and would be neat to try. But I would think it would take all the fun out of a manual. But again, I'd have to try it first.

I highly doubt that this will deal with the TKO's inherent high RPM shifting problems.

With that being said, I would rather use Twist's Shrifter then this... Or if I really wanted to spend $5k on a tranny, I would pick up a Jerico...

Twist Machine has paddle shifters for electronic automatics

Sounds like an expensive air shifter only cable operated. Wouldn't it be possible to rig a ignition interrupt and powershift without the clutch on all out runs. Not really a new idea and if you want a manual shift tranny that doesn't need a clutch.........Shrifter??
