Definitely.... I even changed my major, but I got the degree. Don't stop - even if you have to take a semester off, keep going until you get through it. Do you have good study/lab partners? That makes a big difference I think. If you are going mostly solo, that makes it 10x harder.

I studied mechanical engineering at the University of Arizona. I know the feeling of being burnt out on school. I never had money, never had the time to go out with friends because of my work load, but in the end it paid off. Hang in there and when it is all over, you will look back and realize what an accomplishment it was and how important it will be for your future.

I received a degree in Mechanical Enginering from OU (one of letterman's regular top 10 party schools). It was very overwhelming at times. But I finally finished. And it was the best thing I could do for my career. That little piece of paper is great.

Don't give up. It will definitely all be worth it when you are done.

I know exactly how you feel. I'm 32 now, did the 7 year college plan. I was a Science major so I know about all those labs. My dept. was small so I actually took 4 or 5 grad. classes to fullfill my major requirements. I work full time+ and carried 12-20 units. I had class or work every day at 8am and never got home til after 10pm. I usually was up til 2 or later my last two quarters. It's tough, but well worth it.
My advise is get it done. College is all about the experience and the little piece of paper when you're done. It's a milestone that will open many doors for you. I was VERY close to quitting once. But, I stuck with it and am very greatful now.

I feel ya. Almost every test i feel like just walking out an not coming back. Im 21 and on my junior year as well. I did 2 years of civil engineering.. Loved the good jobs that degree can aquire but talked with a few actual civil engineers on what they "really" do, and decided to take buisiness administration with a minor in chemistry.

I took half a year off to work construction full time as the saftey forman for two decent sized crews. I wasn't a guy who stood around and yelled at people to do things the correct way... I was the one working right beside you.


Going to work full time was an eye opening experience, fun, decent money, and was flown to pheonix for some contracting work.

But i eventually blew out my left knee and went back to school, And even if it takes me another 4 years i will do it because like everyone else has said... Its worth the experience and the piece of paper that will open doors.

I appreciate all the advice that was given. I am trying to re-evaluate things and stay focused on the primary goal. 41 hours left to knock this thing out. I am defintely ready for mid-May where I can relax a bit and not have all night study sessions.
