I like the car

love the side vents. I personally like a different finish for the lip of the rim, maybe a brush...but not polish.

I thought about doing the side vents on my car as well. If you are doing a turbo should really be a big help in getting the heat from under the hood.

I like the vents too. I have been thinking of using those on mine and been eyeing them on Zbay.

But i also saw this http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...-1-fenders.jpg on a Civic near my house and it looks 'Bitchin (OK Ok i hear ya all..."Civic" and "Bitchin" in the same sentence.... )

But it really looked good. I'm thinking of adapting something similar. Drawing some stuff up now. Maybe following the vertical line of the fender (near door) and the rest kinda as is bu adapted

Keep the pics comin!

Payton and Lead thank you for coments.

Payton - my thoughts on the lip are this. I did not want to do polished because it getting very common which is ok and looks good but it does not fit the theme. I am debating if I should do a gloss, semi gloss, satin or possibly anodized on the wheels and lips. I think that once it is finished on the car it will look good. I don't like most cars with all black wheels but then again you don't see a lot of all black wheels with big lips. We will see I guess I willing to risk it:lol:

Lead- I have looked at different vents as well. I see now that it is starting to become a popular thing on SUV's now. Which is fine and all but in my opinion only a couple of cars have pulled it off. The one from ebay looks like the new vent on the dodges, I could be wrong. GM is putting them on SUV's now too.

I think less plastic and more of a smooth cut into the fender with a little crome following the body lines like you mentioned is the best. That is exactly why I put them there because it will hopefully cool the engine bay down if we go with the TT. We now have our LSX blocks so we may be starting on one now.:willy: :woot:

I am not trying to change your design

I was giving you my taste...which you did not ask for. LOL I would not do polished either. I really liked the satin look on that bad ass Impala with the dark centers. His name escapes me right now...just started his own company and use to work for Budnik.

My wife has an M3 and I really like BMW's side vents but they may be a little to oval for the straight lines of a 69. I think they (BMW vents) would be cool on a 67 or 68. The ones you photoshopped are perfect for the car.

Lead, I like the vents you picked out as well.

Not sure if you remember, but on Rides they were doing as Expedition for Titus' wife. They made 3 side vents for each side...square. They were like the old Buick roadmaster vents. Thought something similar would work.

keep us posted and show some more pics. Anything tricky up front?

Taylor,

The vent i posted is actually a "Range Rover Sport" unit.

I dig it hard, but am really strating to like the molded vent.....More work tough, as always.

Hey, i guess a man's gotta do...

You guy's have a great w-e  !
