Hi,
Thanks for the comments. No, I'm not using the stock 1964. I had a unit put together with 3.7 gears, this gives me 40 MPH at 4500 RPM and 220 MPH at 5000 RPM in top gear. It has a large yoke front yoke, new stub shafts, a carbon fiber clutch set and new ring and pinion gears. It should work, well see. The car should weigh just over 2800 lbs. Everthing that turns, from the engine to the back tires is brand new and much stronget than anything Chevrolet intended. Thanks, again. Roarvette |
Its Driving at the 1500 mile mark

Here is my car at the 1500 mile mark. It is reliable fast and very streetable for a car of this performance level. I continue to do odds and ends, but for now just love putting on the miles. Quickly...

Wow! Talk about a reviving an old thread. Glad to see the car was completed or at least put on the road finally. How did it feel to finally get to this point? Congrats!

More build pics. please. |
More pics would be great. What are those headlights from?
|
The headlights are Hella 90mm rally racing units, very light which was the whole point. They are mounted to a thin steel plate that was welded to the headlight mechanism mounting plates, then fared in with fiberglass.
The LED parking/turn signals are something I found on EBay. The Poly-carbonate (Lexan) covers are 1/16' thick and are formed in a bending brake, just like sheet metal, and then just screwed on, just like a race car. |
